Brow Lift in Sacramento
A falling brow can be responsible for the appearance of heavy forehead creases, permanent frown lines and drooping eyebrows. Often these symptoms can leave you in a constant state of looking older, tired, or angry. A brow lift, or forehead lift, can help restore your natural appearance without making you look surprised or "over-done."
During your consultation, Dr. Davis will assess your degree of sagging and creasing and listen to your concerns. Depending on your needs, he may recommend combining your browlift with a blepharoplasty or facelift for more comprehensive results.
Let Dr. Davis help you achieve a more youthful and refreshed look. Contact Dr. Davis or call 916-318-5770 to schedule your one-on-one consultation today!

More about Brow Lifts
During Your Consultation
During your brow lift consultation, Dr. Davis will assess your concerns and examine your forehead, hair line, eyebrows, eyelids, and face. Depending on your individual goals and starting point, he will recommend whether an open or endoscopic brow lift is right for you. Dr. Davis may also suggest combining your brow lift with eyelid surgery to give you the best result and the most rejuvenation around your eyes.
Technique
During your brow lift procedure, Dr. Davis will either perform a traditional open brow lift or a less invasive endoscopic brow lift. The open brow technique utilizes a scar hidden along the hairline and is best for patients who have deep forehead creases, significant eyebrow drop, and a taller forehead.
The endoscopic technique utilizes a small camera and small incisions hidden in the hairline and is best suited for patients who have mild to moderate wrinkles and eyebrow drop and a shorter forehead. In both techniques, the forehead skin is elevated off of the bone and the eyebrows lifted up into a natural, youthful position. The open brow lift allows for the removal of excess skin. The surgery takes around 2 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
Recovery
After surgery you will have a head wrap on you head and a small drain. You will return to the office the next day to have the head wrap removed, and we will continue to check on you as you recover and are of course here and available any day if you have any questions or concerns. The drain and sutures are removed at your one week appointment.
Recovery from a brow lift takes about 1-2 weeks. That first week you'll be a bit bruised and swollen but will be feeling very good at the end of the week. Many patients like to sleep in a recliner or with their head elevated on extra pillows to help reduce swelling. After the first week, you can gradually increase your activity level and most of the bruising can be covered with makeup at 2 weeks. You can begin strenuous exercise and rigorous activity at 8 weeks.

Q&A with Dr. Davis
Both are great operations for the right person. If you have a shorter forehead, and your brows have fallen a moderate amount, an endoscopic lift may be a good choice. If you have a taller forehead, deeper wrinkles, and heavier brows, then an open brow is usually a better option. During your consultation, I will help guide you to the one that will give you the best result.
An endoscopic brow lift will raise the hairline slightly. An open brow lift can actually lower the hairline and reduce the height of the forehead.
If your upper lids feel heavy, often it can be from both excess upper eyelid skin as well as drooping eyebrows. Many people who have extra upper lid skin will subconsciously raise their eyebrows to help open their eyes. Because the brow and upper lid are connected, surgery on both is often the best way to get the desired result.
For women, the eye brows should sit just above the bone of the upper eye socket, and for men, the eye brows should follow along the edge of this bone. I use this landmark as a guide so you get a result that looks refreshed and natural, not surprised or startled.
