Thigh Lift in Sacramento
A thigh lift removes excess skin from the upper and inner thighs. People seeking a thigh lift often experience discomfort like chafing when walking or exercising, and they often want clothes to fit better. Most candidates for thigh lifts are at or near their goal weight but are experiencing excess skin due to age or significant weight loss.
As the name implies, a thigh lift is designed to remove sagging tissue on the inner and/or outer thighs for increased comfort and a more toned appearance.
Dr. Davis is committed to getting you the results you deserve and the body you want. Contact Dr. Davis or call 916-318-5770 to schedule your one-on-one consultation today!

More about Thigh Lifts
During Your Consultation
During your thigh lift consultation, Dr. Davis will assess your degree of sagging skin and decide on the best course of action, including how long the incision will be and the location. If excess fat is also a concern, he may recommend combining liposuction with your thigh lift procedure. He will also spend time listening to any concerns you have and discuss the scars that are necessary to perform this surgery.
Technique
Prior to going into surgery, Dr. Davis will mark your thighs for the thigh lift and where the scar will be placed discreetly on the inner side of the thigh and extending into the groin crease. He will also mark any areas for liposuction which is commonly done in addition to the skin removal for the best result.
Typically, the incision runs from the groin crease to the knee, and the excess skin is removed to reshape the legs and create a smoother appearance. The incision is closed with absorbable sutures, and often Dr. Davis places a drain. The surgery takes around 2-3 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
Recovery
After surgery you will be placed in a compression garment and will return to the office the next day for us to check on you. Likely you will have a small drain tube in each leg to help remove extra fluid for the first week. We will continue to check on you as you recover and are of course here and available any day if you have any questions or concerns.
Recovery from a thigh lift takes about 2-3 weeks. It is important that you elevate your legs as much as possible and continue the compression garment to reduce swelling. You will want to take it easy those first few weeks to allow the incisions to heal. You can begin unrestricted activity at 8 weeks.

Q&A with Dr. Davis
While there will be scarring from the thigh lift, I place the scars along the inseam and groin crease so that they are as inconspicuous as possible. The majority of patients that have thigh lift surgery find that the scars are a fair trade for better leg shape and the long-lasting results they achieve.
Cellulite dimples that are commonly seen on the thighs and buttocks are unfortunately not improved with a thigh lift. Depending on the degree and location of your cellulite, Cellfina® may be a good option to improve the dimpling.
Scars are necessary to remove the excess skin and fat. I place the scar on the inner thigh (where the seam of your pants is) to keep it hidden in the best place possible. For the people that choose to have this surgery, the scars are a fair trade for having the hanging skin gone and a better shape to the thighs.
Though it can be done, in my experience, it's better and safer to not do those two surgeries at the same time. It can lead to unwanted excess swelling in the legs and healing problems. It's best to fully recover from your tummy tuck and then do your thigh lift as a second surgery.
